Fr Richard Williams, retired Vicar of Hay-on-Wye now lives in Presteigne. He is a most accomplished musician and specialises in the art of organ accompaniment of Silent Films of the 1920s. Many of you will have heard his superb performances at the Hay Festival, including The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Metropolis and Faust.
Richard now gives us an afternoon explaining some of the secrets of this unusual – and rarely heard – form of musical accompaniment and entertainment – music which brought these early films to dramatic life.
Tickets at the door of St Andrew’s Church – £10 to include tea and cakes afterwards.
