You missed an inspirational day.
Minds were refreshed or opened to new
ideas. The main messages of the day that we all left with were:
- Humanise the stories a church can tell by creating memorable sensory
experiences.
- Develop people facing ethics.
- Be hospitable and welcoming to all every day and not just on a
Sunday.
- People will come into a church for many reasons. For some it may be
for the first time. Many will wonder at the sense of place, beauty and
spirituality created.
- Help them to get to know your church by providing a clear, short,
simple and readable guide as they wander. One point to remember – the
average reading age in the UK is 10.
- Create visual links within the church to your working and living
community.
