Interesting, picturesque Norman church with unusual ground plan and medieval roof timbers.
Impressive early stone reredos in the north chapel.
A number of fine Norman features.
When he lived just up the road at Plas Gwyn, Sir Edward Elgar often visited the church and played the fine Nicholson & Lord organ. His composition Elegy for Strings Op 58 was inspired by the view from nearby Mordiford Bridge.
The church is a short distance off the Wye Valley Walk which goes through the village.
